Canoeing is an adventure sport. Moral support is strong, but financial support is generally rather limited. To date, the club’s coaches have worked exclusively on a voluntary basis. Active athletes (aged 10 and above) pay for their own food, travel and accommodation costs for most national and international competitions. This also applies to training camps and similar events.
Our members want to specifically promote young canoeing talent in Schaffhausen and enable today's youth to enjoy an attractive sport. They enjoy seeing young people being active and healthy and value the camaraderie among like-minded people.
We are also fortunate to count a large number of individuals and couples among our patrons. These are often former athletes, parents, grandparents, godparents and relatives of active or former athletes.
